Lucrative Niches on eBay

There are also very profitable niches on eBay, and some Sellers are raking in the money in profitable eBay niches. Interestingly, some of these niches are relatively unknown to the common Internet Seller.
I’ve talked to some people who say selling on eBay is no longer profitable, that eBay’s “heyday” is now gone. They say there is too much competition and too many people selling at rock bottom prices. Well, it is true that some categories (niches) on eBay have seemingly hit rock bottom, including the prices buyers are willing to pay. This is really just a common characteristic of buyer psychology. Market trends are continually changing, and hot products come and go. What’s “hot” today may not be “hot” tomorrow.
This is why it’s important for Sellers — whether they sell on eBay or elsewhere — to know their market. Sellers must keep on top of market trends and watch their niches for signs of “hot” and “cold” periods. The market for many products seems to take on a life of its own. A product may start out being in high demand and then become very low on most buyers’ lists. Another product may start out with average sales and then sky-rocket after something happens that brings attention to the product.
Hollywood is responsible for the rising demand of many products, especially certain clothing brands and accessories. Some Sellers even advertise their handbags with pictures of certain celebrities carrying a similar handbag.
Any product that is in high demand can be sold on eBay in a profitable niche, and many Sellers know this. They are not concerned about rising costs of selling on eBay or greater competition. Flexibility is the key — you must be able and willing to change with the market.
